Woman to serve 6 years in prison for mail fraud and filing false tax return

A woman in Virginia has been convicted and sentenced to 6 years in prison, and fined over $800k for her mail fraud scheme as well as filing a false tax return.

Antoinette Reese pleaded guilty to the charges in September 2011. Reese was employed by a company that handled reservations for Williamsburg Plantation.

Reese started her own company in 2001 called AW Marketing in which would double bill all the reservations she had made as an employee for the reservations company.  AW Marketing managed to obtain over $800,000 from customers. She will be serving 46 months on the mail fraud charge.

As for her charge for filing a false tax return, she has been sentenced to an additional 36 months.
